The product that Stratagematics has come up with is going to help the people of Manila Metro, Manila, Philippines; specifically the slums, where the people there have very little space without garbage to stay or sleep. The product is a fold-able bunk-bed. It's purpose is to be small, movable, and will provide a place to sleep for a small family with protection from mosquitoes. Unlike sending a camping tent or installing bunk beds, this product will provide a space above litter and grime that can be moved when needed and protects the people from harmful mosquito bites while providing a spot of shade.
The materials Stratagematics has thought of using are cypress or cedar wood for the frame. Inside the frame where one would lay would be six planks of wood for support, each about 1/4 inch thick. The entire structure will be covered in a mesh netting (something like this) in order to keep mosquitoes out. This material would also lay across the bottom, under or over the wooden planks. On the underside of the bed are folding, triangular legs each one, a foot long. On the upper bunk these will fit into the 1/4 inch indentations on the corners of the bottom frame and keep the bottom bunk off of the floor. The top bunk will have a post between 6-12 inches to hold up the netting. The ladder on the end of the bed will be secured to the top bunk and be made of rope (considering nylon) and a hard plastic.
